Supafly

Superhero satire for the modern fan.

A short-form comedic skit series bringing a flawed, funny, and distinctly Black superhero to life.

The Premise

The Hero We Actually Relate To

The superhero genre is dominated by billionaires in high-tech armor and flawless alien gods. But what would a real, flawed, funny, Black superhero look like?

Supafly is the answer. This short-form scripted series parodies and celebrates comic book culture , placing our hero in absurd yet deeply relatable everyday scenarios. Sitting somewhere between the irreverent satire of The Boys and the fast-paced, character-driven comedy of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the series offers a fresh, distinctly Black perspective on the superhero mythos.

It’s superhero storytelling that feels both familiar and culturally specific, reflecting the humour, frustrations, and joy of the modern fan.

The Format

Everyday Absurdity Meets Comic-Book Tropes

Supafly evolves viral social commentary into high-quality, scripted short-form episodes. Each skit grounds the absurd scale of comic-book danger in relatable humor.

The series explores scenarios where the biggest threat isn't always a doomsday device, but rather ego, misunderstanding, or a bruised pride. Episodes in development include:

  • The Dance-Off: Supafly attempts to rescue his partner from a villain's neon-lit hideout, only to be baited into a humiliating, over-the-top dance battle.

  • The PR Nightmare: Supafly's alter-ego publicist goes on live television to spin routine misunderstandings (like turning a mall flash-mob into a neutralized mind-control attack) as acts of heroism.

  • The Hostage Hangout: After accidentally locking himself inside a vault with two bank robbers, Supafly drops the hero act, trading stories and bonding with them over a game of Super Smash Bros.

  • The Roast: Supafly tries to out-banter a silver-tongued villain at a packed stadium, only to get publicly roasted with razor-sharp insults about his knock-off suit and need for validation.

In Development:

Building the Supafly Universe

This project represents the next chapter for a standout Canadian voice in digital storytelling.

Embreate is actively co-developing Supafly with Chris Markland. Together, we recently secured development funding from the Canada Media Fund (CMF). Our current focus is establishing an efficient, repeatable production pipeline to transition the Supafly persona from viral social content into a sustainable short-form franchise.

We are currently refining the format, producing the pilot batch of original skits, and preparing the property for scale.

Get Involved

We are actively seeking production financing, brand partnerships, and strategic collaborators to help bring the full first season of Supafly to life.
