Animation Watch Club
Watching indie animations. Talking about why it matters.
A YouTube web series where animators and storytellers gather to watch, analyze, and celebrate the works that inspire us.
The Premise
A Different Kind of Watch Party
Animation Watch Club is a YouTube-style reaction format inspired by popular series like REACT, Screen Rant’s Pitch Meetings, and Blind Wave Watch Parties, but with a distinct focus of our own.
Rather than spotlighting major studio clips, Watch Parties center on original short animations created by independent artists. Each session brings together a small group of creatives, including writers, comedians, influencers, and animators, to watch and respond to an independently produced animated work.
The conversations include real-time reactions to the animation’s creativity and storytelling, but they do not stop there. Participants dig deeper, drawing connections to pop culture, exploring underlying themes, and discussing the broader social and cultural ideas reflected in the work.
Status
Animation Watch Club is currently in development.
We’re actively experimenting with the format, refining the conversations, and learning from each session as we go.
You can watch all Animation Watch Club sessions on our YouTube channel.
Each watch party builds on the last, helping us evolve the format while spotlighting outstanding independent animated work.
