Stephany’s Project
Fancy Microwave
Fancy Microwave is a darkly comic 2-minute sci-fi animation that humorously explores humanity’s hubris in the face of technological progress.
The short follows the FlavorSavor, a revolutionary kitchen appliance designed to end food spoilage forever. What begins as a marvel of innovation devolves into chaos when the device accidentally unleashes a nationwide mold spore crisis.
With its surreal, photo-collage animation style—reminiscent of Monty Python and Felix Colgrave—Fancy Microwave combines absurdist humor with a critique of the unintended consequences of technological innovation.
“I wanted to create something absurd but relatable, a story that made people laugh and think,” Stephany explains.
